Coil spring kits for Crossover and small SUV vehicles - what are they and why fit them?

In the automobile industry, the Crossover concept refers to a vehicle that is a combination of sports utility vehicle and a saloon or hatchback vehicle, designed to draw on the advantages of both types of vehicle. These are sometimes referred to as "Urban 4x4s" in Europe.

When compared to traditional 4x4s, Crossovers offer a much improved road ride (integral body frame), lower fuel consumption, all at a lower retail price. However, despite their 4 wheel drive system, performance is often dramatcally limited as soon as they head off the beaten track

In this category some small SUVs do however offer good off-roading potential, but this can be thwarted by limited body height.

Our coil spring kits are designed to offer a lift of 3 to 4 cm without having to change the standard shock absorbers and also allow you to fit bigger tyres if required. With this set-up the vehicle will benefit from improved off-road performance without compromising on-road performance.

No other parts are required, no special shock absorbers or control arms.

With a minor modification such as this, all you need to do is check the tracking.

Compared to lift spacers the coils not only offer increased height but also improved suspension travel. Because they are designed for off-road use, they are stronger than the standard spec coils. The combination of these advantages means the vehicle can better absorb the irregularites of the terrain.
