Body mounts - what do they do and why change them?

The body sits on the chassis and they are attached via these flexible links, enabling the chassis free movement without breaking the connection to the body. In extreme circumstances they can rupture because the body mounts inevitably break down and wear over time.

The mount consists of a metal-rubber or metal-polyurethane block that links the body to the chassis.

The mount is bolted between the body and chassis and offers the chassis a degree of freedom of movement underneath the body.
