Description
The main characteristic of a Common Rail injection system lies in the presence of a single high-pressure accumulator, that sends fuel to your vehicle's injectors and can go up to 2,000 bars at full load.
These injectors are fed by the common rail, which serves as a high-pressure fuel reservoir, controlled by a mechanical or electronically controlled limiter. The injectors are electro-hydraulically controlled valves, with one per cylinder. In some engines, they can become clogged and generate soot. This soot can then deposit in the engine oil and block the engine lubrication system.
