The EGR cooler is a component used to reduce the temperature of the exhaust gases recirculated by the EGR system. It is not found on all vehicles, but for those that have it, it is essential for the performance and handling of the vehicle. Any problem with the EGR cooler can also lead to an increase in NOx emissions (nitrogen monoxide and dioxide).

Why change the EGR cooler?

The most common failure is due to a lack of sealing on the exhaust side. More rarely, it is a honeycomb corrosion on the coolant side. Improper coolants can be a source of corrosion or cavitation.
