"What do we want to do with our rock? "

Anthony and Céline asked themselves the question and are now looking for the answer.

 

This young couple are on a five-year Eco-volunteer world tour, in search of endangered species. They are travelling in a Toyota KZJ73, specially converted in to a home and equipped to climb the many mountains that they will encounter along their way. They will be visiting Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tibet and beyond ...

September 2017

Our friends are still in Laos !

They have decided to stay at the elephant conservation centre, which they continue to manage.

They still have their Toyota, which allows them to travel into remote areas to identify the elephants that can be saved.

Their tour of the world continues, in a different but equally as intense !

August 2016

After 5 months in Laos (November 2015-March 2016) in the Luang Prabang region with the association Free the Bears, and a break in France, our travellers are now in Vientiane at the ECC, Elephant conservation Centre, based in Sayabury, Laos.

Their mission is to improve the organisation and create an information centre for the Luang Prabang centre.

The couple plan to stay until November 2016, as their latest mission will take them several months.

Laos (January 2016)

"A wonderful challenge for Around the Rock in Laos with the Asian black bear also known as moon bear and white-chested bear.

It was after seeing photos of “Totoy”, our nickname for the Toyota, that the head of the NGO Free the Bears in Laos contacted us. We met in Luang Prabang and Matt asked us if we would manage the expansion of an enclosure in the reserve Tat Kuang Si where thirty white-chested bears live. "

Their journey

They left everything to offer their help as volunteers in natural parks that protect endangered animals.

They started in Karelia (Russia) helping to reintroduce brown bears back into their natural habitat. Then they travelled to Lake Baikal and Mongolia to see the Gobi bears. Followed by a long stay in Kyrgyzstan with the rangers who protect snow leopards.
