4x4 Travel - Ver, Oír y Viajar

Combining a world tour with solidarity!

Whats it all about?

Ver, Oír y Viajar (See, listen and travel) is a world tour of two years (and more if possible) organized by Juan Carlos and Rosalía.

This young Spanish couple, passionate about travel and adventure, decided to turn their dreams into reality. Their objective is to discover the world  and leave a positive impression behind.

To do this, they will collaborate with various NGOs (mainly in Africa), and transport materials to the most deprived. They will create a "Travel School" that will bring children closer to the real world and teach them true values and principles.

A superb trip in perspective, aboard an equipped Defender 130.

They plan to leave at the end of February 2017, on the program: the world. When are they coming back? Who knows!

They're on their way!

Let’s meet them

Juan Carlos and Rosalía are from Utiel (Valencia - Spain).

The instigator of the project is 33 year old Juan Carlos an oceanographer who has always loved travelling. He has already visited many countries, but his thirst for knowledge is far from satisfied. Sporty and a good mechanic, he also loves to teach and "chat", which makes him an ideal travel companion.

Rosalía is 29 years old and has a degree in Law and Business Administration. She is the perfect organizer for the trip. Patient and calm, she loves to help others and travel of course. She is optimistic and flexible by nature.

The vehicle

Rocinante (this Defender proudly bears the name of Don Quixotes horse) is a Land Rover Defender 130 built in 1993 and equipped with living shell.

Rocinante is everything for our travellers: their home, their means of transport, their refuge, and their dream.

For a trip around the world, this Def is perfect. It can go anywhere and theres enough space to live in.

The couple bought it in France and it’s already got quiet a few kilometres on the clock but it’s ready for some more beautiful adventures with Juan Carlos and Rosalía!

Route

Their world trip starts on the west coast of Africa then they are off to South Africa, and back to Kenya. Then, it will be the turn of the other continents!

The Solidarity project

Juan Carlos and Rosalía have three projects:

  • They will be volunteers for three NGOs in South Africa, Malawi and Uganda.
  • They will collaboration with a platform to transport materials to the most deprived.
  • And theres "School of Travel". Thanks to new technology, the children of several schools who have agreed to participate in this project will be able to ask questions, participate and discover another world and awaken their consciousness. The aim of this "Travel School" is to raise awareness among the young. To awaken their interest and solidarity and help them to acquire as much knowledge as possible.
