Leigh and Stéphanie are a young couple passionate about Land Rovers, hence their choice of a Defender 130. It's a vehicle capable of taking them to remote places with breathtaking scenery and particularly into the mountains that they so love climbing.
We left them in Mongolia at the end of 2019. We now find them in South Korea, for the second part of their journey

2021 News
July Back in Australia!
Leigh & Stéphanie have made it back to Australia, and their Land Rover Defender got there too!
We will be following them for the third part of their super adventure!
June - Preparing for a 2nd attempt to get back to Australia!
Leigh and Stéphanie don’t give up easily so they’re going to try again to get back to Australia.
Leaving Taiwan is hard for them, but they want to see Leigh’s family and their friends.
A lot of preparation work is underway right now. There’s a pile of bureaucracy to wade through, and they need to prepare Grizzly, which is no small task!
May - Taking a break in Taiwan
Taiwan is going through difficult times, so Leigh & Stéphanie have decided to stop travelling for a few weeks.
Thanks to friends, they’ve found a place to stay and park their Defender, until the situation improves.
March & April - Taiwan
Leigh & Stéphanie have started their adventure in Taiwan, and in style!
They drove one of the toughest 4x4 trails through the Taiwan mountains. It’s a particularly difficult route and it was quite an adventure!
February
Grizzly arrived at the Taiwan port and Leigh & Stéphanie were able to pick it up without any problems.
The adventure continues in Taiwan!

Quarantine and customs clearance for Grizzly promises to be long, so for the moment they have moved "house" and are patiently waiting until they can continue their journey!
Leigh & Stéphanie have left Japan, after 11 months of pure pleasure and many discoveries in this wonderful country.
Their Defender is on route for Taiwan!

Leigh & Stéphanie are in Japan, and they're making the most of travelling around this magnificent country.
They recently had the opportunity to attend the 3rd Land Rover "Cheers 72" rally in Karuizawa (Nagano) where they got to see the new Defender!

Things don't always go as planned! Stéphanie and Leigh were refused entry into Australia!
Fortunately, they were able to recover their Defender just before it was loaded onto the roll-on/roll-off ship that was heading to Australia! They are back in their home on wheels ready for some new adventures. They were able to extend their visas so that they can continue to explore this magnificent country, Japan.

Leigh and Stéphanie are shipping their defender GrizzlyNBear from Japan to Australia.
They will hopefully be reunited with their vehicle soon but travelling anywhere at the moment is complicated.

It's a Land Rover Defender 130 with a recently changed engine.
It's fully equipped to live comfortably in and to go everywhere. It's enabled them to discover some fascinating countries and people.
Let's meet them.
Leigh is Australian, and Stéphanie is French.
They met climbing in Thailand ten years ago. Since then they have been travelling the world in search of countries that are not on the usual tourist routes and immersing themselves in new cultures.
Route
They've already been on the road for three years and have discovered a good part of Central Asia. They set sail for South Korea at the beginning of the year and hope to arrive in Japan by the end of 2020.
