A dream: To live on the road!
Jasper and Malin are living the life they dreamed of traveling the world. Over time, Jasper has developed a strong passion for photography. His project is to share both his photos and their experiences with others.
After testing a number of different vehicles Malin and Jasper have chosen a 4x4, a Defender 110 called Landy! They’ve already been on their first trip of 16,000km, discovering Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland!
Now they’re off to Southern Europe, Spain, Portugal, and Italy to begin with, and then the Balkans!

After spending the Christmas and New Years holidays with their families, Jasper and Malin have decided to stay a bit longer. They'll be back on the road in February!

Let's meet them
Jasper is 29 and comes from the Netherlands. He has studied Mechanical Engineering. After his studies and working out in the field, he discovered a passion for nature and photography. He is a self-taught photographer with some real estate photography experience.
Malin, also 29, moved from Sweden to the Netherlands when she was very young. She lived in the same small town as Jasper. She studied communications and worked for two and half years as a producer in an advertising agency. After a 6-month world tour, the dream of traveling in a 4x4 was born. With Jasper, they decided to buy a Land Rover and rebuild it in 6 months to make their dream come true.
The project
The couple has been traveling for a number of years now, during their trip to New Zealand in 2016 they tested overland life for a month, aboard a Nissan Sunny, and loved it! They realized that life in the open air was what suited them the most.
They continued their travels in California in a camping car, and in Europe they had an old Volvo 245.
Their new project was obvious to them, live on the road aboard their own fully equipped 4x4 vehicle. So they took a big step and quit their jobs and started living their dream.
They bought an old rusty Land Rover Defender 110, and spent the next six months turning it into a house on wheels, equipping it with everything they needed to explore Europe.
This is how Us and the Landy was born!
Their vehicle
In November 2018 they bought a 1984 Land Rover Defender 110 and started to turn it into a home.
It’s a right-hand drive equipped with a more recent Defender 200Tdi engine. Like most old Land Rovers, it had rust issues on the body and chassis but the engine and transmission were still in reasonable condition and only needed a good overhaul.
The desire to make their dream come true has turned Jasper and Malin into Land Rover experts, car painters, cabinet makers, and electricians.
The whole building process had its ups and downs, but they couldn't be happier with the end result!
