Description
The Pitman arm is a key component of your 4x4's steering system. It connects to the steering relay shaft via splines, and on the other end, it attaches to the steering rod with a ball joint. This arm moves in a circular motion, turning your vehicle's wheels left or right in response to the steering wheel's direction.
Why replace the Pitman arm?
Wear on a Pitman arm typically occurs at the ball joint. If there isn't a grease point, you should replace the Pitman arm as soon as you notice the first signs of any looseness or play.
