Description

The oxygen sensor in your 4x4 determines the concentration of the exhaust gases: it compares the oxygen content of the atmospheric air with the residual oxygen present in the exhaust gases. The value measured indicates the air/fuel mixture ratio. It communicates the differences to the control unit in the form of an electrical signal. The control unit then corrects the ignition and injection accordingly.

An oxygen sensor should be replaced between 60,000 and 80,000 km.
