They’re on the road!

June-July 2016

Anael and Jacky left in early June for China! A long journey culminating at the foot of the Great Wall of China!

Who are they?

Anaël Oppendinger

"Born in 1987, "cabin crew" for Easy Jet, Ive got itchy feet!

Im taking a year out so that one day a wont have to say to myself "what did I do with my life?"

Ive travelled on my own through the eastern countries on my bike, in the heat of the sun and through the driving rain. Before this I rode across Iceland. This trip enabled me to discover the difficulties but also the joys of off-roading. These experiences have made me want to continue my travels, but this time around the world!

This time I will be at the wheel of my Rubicon 4x4 Jeep Wrangler unlimited, alone in America. "

Jacky Oppendinger

"Born in 1948, Im Anaëls father, and co-driver for the first part of the journey: " In the footsteps of Genghis Khan and Marco Polo "

Adventurer, photographer, videographer and retired Im an experienced traveller. I offered to accompany Anael to Beijing where we will put the 4x4 in a container direction Chile; and meantime we will take the opportunity to visit South Korea where my son was born 27 years ago.

At 18 I hitched hiked across the USA. Then I travelled through Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. I photographed the pre-Columbian sites discovered in the 1970s; then went to Bali, Java, Singapore, Hong Kong, Egypt, Greece, etc ... In 2011, I toured Peru, and photographed from all angles this colourful country!

For the last 10 years my passion has been diving in seas around the world, photographing and advocating for the protection of sharks.

This project is close to my heart for it’s humanitarian side, but also for the great pleasure of sharing this adventure with my son.  40 years separates us but this trip brings us together! "
