Canada at their rhythm!
If there is a country that symbolizes freedom, adventure, open spaces and pure nature, it’s Canada.
Sophie and Gregoire, two passionate travellers and adventures, intend to explore every nook and cranny of this immense country.
Together they planned the Globe Throttle project which starts in Canada, but intends to continue its journey around the world in a 4x4 and by bike!
On board their GMC Sierra pickup, specially equipped to live in and to go anywhere, they will spend a year travelling through Canada. The vehicle will allow them to really discover this beautiful country and share the Canadians daily life. A unique adventure amongst the lakes and forests of Canada!
From May 2017 to May 2018, it is a hectic year that awaits them and us!
On the road !
2018
March - April - Still in Ontario
February - back to Canada
After travelling through Montana and Minnesota, our friends are back in Canada (Ontario) for a new job.
January - The USA
Our friends have left Canada and crossed the border into the USA, where they are discovering some more amazing landscapes ! Here they are in Montana!
2017
Christmas in the snow - just as it should be!
October - British Columbia
September - Alaska
August - En route to Alaska
July – Gaspé Peninsula and the Chics-Chocs mountains
Sophie and Gregoire are still in the Gaspé. They decided to spend a weekend exploring the Chic-Choc Wildlife Reserve and the Gaspé national park in search of the caribous. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned ... they didn’t see any caribous and their weekend was pretty hectic!
The SatNav said 2 hours to cover 12 kilometres! As they are well equipped they decided to head off.
After crossing streams, steep slopes, impossible climbs and a lots of rocks, they discover to their surprise that the road no longer existed! So over to Plan B with a detour of 17 km, but the road was better and the landscapes were so gigantic and magnificent that they decide to continue. This is where they discovered that their 4x4 really can go ANYWHERE!
However during a break Greg realized that he had a problem with the rear left leaf spring. Diagnosis: a broken leaf spring mount. Treatment: they had to be towed to Saint-Anne des Monts, a 100 kilometres away.
After a temporary repair they were able to return to Matane. The 4x4 will soon be back on the road ready to continue its adventures!
May- June - Quebec & Gaspé
