A world tour together !
Mar and Luis want to see every knock and cranny of the world. To achieve this they have reorganised their lives. Before they met they had both already travelled. Together they have decided to leave no corner of the planet undiscovered. Hungry for adventure and freedom, they want to see everything they can aboard their Toyota Hilux.
They can’t completely leave every day life behind them, so they travel for a few months each year. At the end of each stage, their vehicle waits their return for the next stage.
On the 18th of January 2018, they will be in Cape Town (South Africa) for the next stage of their journey across the African continent, their Hilux is already there.

End of February-March
They’re off ! The journey has begun for Mar and Luis, who picked up their car in South Africa and are heading for Lesotho.
They had a great time with fellow travellers, Rosalía and Juan Carlos, travelling under the name of Ver, Oír y Viajar.
Let's meet them !
Luis and Mar are a young couple whose life project is to go around the world. Luis is from Madrid and Mar is from Seville and Melilla,
The third member of the family is Durro their dog who when it’s possible travels with them. He’s already been to Morocco and Sardinia
However for the trip to Africa he’s staying at home. The crossing of a number of borders makes it complicated to take a dog so they have decided to leave him safely in Spain.
When they are not on their long trips, Luis and Mar devote all their free time to travelling along the Iberian coast and a good part of Europe.
Why "Bonobos on route" ?
The couple wanted to find a name for their journey other than "Luis & Mar", too ordinary.
They love animals (Mar is a biologist by profession). Fascinated by bonobos, whose behaviour is close to humans they thought the name described their lifestyle and their project. They consider themselves as true "monkeys of the road"!
Their vehicle
It’s a Hilux from 2010, 2.5 D4D 144hp, bought in Madrid.
