For Leigh and Stéphanie, a young Franco-Australian couple, their best life is on board their Defender 130, nicknamed Grizzly!
Passionate about adventure and climbing - that's how they met - they've been crisscrossing the world for several years now. The mountains are their passion, and it's thanks to their 4x4 that they can reach the most remote places and share their experiences with us!
They've been in Australia, Leigh's homeland, since July 2021, but they're now heading off to new destinations that will blow our minds!
GrizzlyNbear is a fabulous journey that never ceases to surprise and fascinate us!

Grizzly is still in the workshop, and its refit is nearing completion!
We'll be able to admire all the work done by our friends at the Land Rover Show in Elgin, near Cape Town, in early November.
September
Our travellers continue to work on improving Grizzly!
After a wonderful tour of Reunion Island, our friends are planning to set off in their Defender by mid-October at the latest, for the maiden voyage of the new and improved GrizzlyNbear.
They don't yet know where they'll be going, but they'll be looking for long, rough tracks to shake out the new system for at least a few thousand kilometres. Then they'll be back at Victitec for a full, top-to-bottom inspection. We can't wait to see them back on the road!

May - June
Leigh & Stephanie, have decided to make some big changes to their Defender!
When they arrived in South Africa, they decided to rebuild their Land Rover and make Leigh's dream come true!
He had always dreamed of converting the Defender because the rear seat section of the vehicle is actually a wasted space for them and they were looking to make more efficient use of it.
They thought long and hard about it and now it's taking shape! The benefits of this conversion are many, including removing the heavy spare tyre from the roof, reducing the overhang, improving the centre of gravity, and more!
While the work is going on they are enjoying their other great passion: climbing!
April - Africa, at last!
Our travellers and their Defender are finally on the African continent!
They're currently in South Africa, and the adventure can begin!
January
While their Defender sails off to South Africa, a trip that will take a good two months, our friends are in Jordan!
They'll be doing the famous Jordan Trail walk!
2022
End of December
Their vehicle is loaded, and the long journey to South Africa begins. Arrival is scheduled for mid-February 2023!
Our travellers are taking advantage of the opportunity to visit family before they too set off for the African continent!

Leigh is Australian, and Stephanie is French.
They met rock climbing in southern Thailand.
Since then, these two outdoor adventure enthusiasts have travelled the world in search of countries that are not on the usual tourist trail and have immersed themselves in new cultures.

It's a pampered Land Rover Defender 130! It's not only been very well looked after it's also had a complete mechanical overhaul.
The couple have completely refitted the interior to make it comfortable to live in.
